Justice and Equity is Different than Just Us and Apathy
12 05 2010During times when home foreclosures are on the rise, racial tensions escalate, economic spirals downward, weather conditions unpredictable; we are reminded more than ever to understand notions of peace and the brotherhood of humanity. It seems as if there are some who believe they can use the system to go without paying rent or maintaining their responsibilities. When you go to Consumer and Regulatory Affairs it appears that you have no rights and that you need to pay off the squatter so that s/he leaves your property. If you take matters into your own hands the law is against you. The red tape, policies and procedures appear to be skewed. What rights or protections do landlords have? Do we simply take it – the injustice, the unwillingness and lack of responsiveness of housing agencies and/or regulatory affairs? I would like to know. I have a knucklehead living in my rented space who will not leave, won’t pay rent, plays games with the government and now I am the victim. Your help is appreciated…any thoughts?

Angry Landlord In DC
7 05 2010Our purpose is to connect with landlords who may have been victimized by the Washington DC Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs. We wonder what the District Of Columbia Housing Authority would think about this since they are DC’s largest landlord.
- Did you loose your property because you had a difficult time evicting tenants who used housing laws against you?
- Are you currently in the process of attempting to evict a tenant who refuses to pay?
- Have you been advised to give non-paying tenants a “payoff” to get them to move?
- Would you be interested in joining other property owners in a class action lawsuit against the District Of Columbia?
Please join us, click on the Front Page tab and post a small narrative explaining your situation and let us begin to unravel and address the injustices that consume our time and threaten our livelihood.
